The Lucid Critique was set up in 2015 by Aidan Lucid as a result of his dissatisfaction with a lot of similar manuscript appraisal services. In Lucid's own words, "Like most new and struggling authors, I couldn't afford to pay the exorbitant amounts some agencies charged so that's where the seeds were sown for The Lucid Critique. I wanted to give a much-needed service that was affordable to everyone. Reading is one of my passions and when you combine that with helping new and upcoming writers, it's a win-win situation for everyone."
Aidan Lucid is a widely published author, having some of his poetry, short stories and articles published in many magazines, e-zines and anthologies throughout the last decade. Aidan had his debut fantasy novel, The Zargothian Tales: Return of the Son of Hamorin, published in December 2010. From March to December 2007, Mr Lucid wrote movie reviews for his local award-winning newspaper, The Kerryman. Aidan is also an assistant editor at Bewildering Stories e-zine. He has also set up his own online psychic business, Lucid Psychic Services, offering online angel card and photo readings.
